Cards are the name given to individual actions or tools contained within your Nodes.

They’re usually simple, self-contained actions like “send a message” or “search the knowledge base”.

Dragging a card from the card tray into a Node tells your agent to perform the action that card represents when the user reaches that point in a given conversation or workflow. Standard Nodes execute cards sequentially, while Autonomous Nodes use an LLM to determine when and in which order it should perform any of the actions it has access to.

Integrations will turn the actions available to them into custom cards. For instance, the Linear integration will let your agent create or update an issue, depending on which action you’d like it to be able to perform.

Cards are the most fundamental building block of your AI Agents, so it’s a great idea to get to know them very well.

Summary
Cards are self-contained actions within nodes, executed sequentially or autonomously, enabling AI agents to perform tasks and integrate tools.
